You are trying to use an application on an unsupported Windows version. I've downloaded the software on Windows 10 x64 and installed it, but it gives the error related to the CPP file. This could mean only one thing: compatibility with newer versions of Windows.
I have also tried compatibility mode and the result is the same. You will need a Windows XP installation in order to run the application. This can be achieved using VirtualBox and an official ISO or Windows XP installation disc.
Am I correct that this software download (if that's what it's supposed to be) doesn't work with any Windows OS produced after about 2015?
Yes, it is correct that the "KLN89B Software Simulator" may not work with Windows operating systems produced after 2015.
